                 Abdul Kalam was born October 1931,in a middle class Tamil family in the island town of Rameswaram in the erstwhile Madras state.His full name Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul. His father Jainulabdeen,had neither much formal education nor more much wealth,despite these disadvantages,he possessed great innate wisdom and a true generosity of spirit. He had an ideal helpmate in his mother Ashiamma.
                 The Second world war broke out in1939, when he was eight years old. His science teacher Sivasubramania iyer,though an orthodox Brahmin with a very conservative wife,was some thing of a rebel.
